Here’s my story… I never learned to eat a healthy diet. I grew up as one of those kids who didn’t have to worry about what I ate or how much I ate. I was always active and in good shape. Unfortunately it all changed about twelve years ago. My relatively sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy diet, and slow metabolism caught up with me causing me to gain over 50 pounds. For the last twelve years I have been struggling with my weight. I have tried all sorts of diets and various home exercise regimens. When I did experience some degree of success it would be short lived. Each time the weight would come back and then some. My problem was that I couldn’t stay motivated enough to stick with any program. I would constantly procrastinate instead of going to the gym and I was miserable to be around when I was dieting.
Pinnacle Fitness Bootcamp changed all that. I lost 13 pounds and reduced my body fat by 10% in just 8 short weeks. You may wonder; how is that possible? First, the workouts are incredible. No workout is ever the same so you never get bored. The trainers are fantastic at keeping you motivated; and because you are working out with a group of people at all levels of fitness there is a synergy that just makes you want to push yourself to work harder. You have an incredible feeling of accomplishment after every workout that makes you long for the next session.
Changing my eating habits was not as difficult as it had been in the past. The Pinnacle Fitness Food Guide was instrumental in giving me ideas for good meals. Instead of counting calories or eating food from a box, I simply substituted some of my unhealthy food choices with better choices. I was definitely not perfect, but I found that making a few specific changes made the transition easy and I never felt like I was depriving myself of food.
The most significant changes I made were watching my portion sizes and staying consist with what I ate during meals. I’d buy nuts and dried fruit mix and portioned it out into zip lock bags so I would only eat one serving at a time during snacks. I started having salad for lunch which consisted of a lettuce spring mix with sliced chicken or turkey, a portion of nuts, dried berries and an apple cut into small pieces (I am actually not a salad eater, but this concoction was sweet, crunchy and filling). I also made sure to drink at least 64oz of water everyday. When possible, I eat a healthy breakfast and dinner. I know some of those meals probably wouldn’t fall into the category of “Pinnacle approved meals, however; I try to limit my portions so that I don’t completely blow it. I also allow myself to have a small treat from time to time.

I have more energy and I feel good about myself, but the greatest gift is being able to spend more quality time doing activities with my wife and children. Thank you David Nash for changing my life.
