After I’d been coming to boot camp for about six months, I was in a bad car wreck this summer (three weeks before my 41st birthday).  While I was lucky to walk away from it, I had injuries that left me in a lot of pain.  I visited my doctor because of the pain several days after the accident (I was in the ER right after the wreck) and she said that I probably came through it better than I could have because I was strong and in good shape.  When I told her I was taking some time off from my exercise class, she said “That’s too bad, because that is what you need to help you heal and recover.”  Turns out she was right.  After the pain became manageable, I started coming back to morning classes, taking it easy on myself.  Within weeks I was feeling like my old self again.  It’s amazing what regular, varied and challenging exercise can do for your body (not to mention the mental benefits)!  So here’s to David and Montrell for all that they do to keep us healthy, strong and inspired!
